2006 Reviews Choice: I can't wait to go again! Comments: I went with some friends and had the time of my life!!! since one of my friends dad is a sponsor (spinz bike shop)so we were VIP and got to be first in line. The vampire never blinked. ever. Josh tried to get him to blink and talk and stuff but he wouldnt. The scariest part was on the tram. Me and Erika were screaming so loud that 3 monsterthings were in our seat at one time!! On the cornmaze, we were so scared of all those things pooping out that we were the first people out by like 5 minutes! And thoose clowns were really scary!! Josh, who wasnt scared of other things, was terrified. I cant wait to go next year!! Choice: I'm a Spookywoods Fan for Life! Comments: I've never been to your Halloween spook house but have been looking at this online for 2 years now. I'm very impressed at how well the website is put together, the photography and the sound track. Keep up the good work. Choice: I screamed so much I lost my voice! Comments: it was definitely the most scariest adventure ever I LOVED IT....i went there like 3 weeks ago from this coming up Saturday...it rocked....cant wait to go again next year Choice: I wet my pants! I don't scare easy, but others in my party do, so I laughed the entire time at them running around like lil sissies, being chased with chainsaws, priests with snakes, and killer clowns. Wow...is all i can say!! That "SpookyWoods" was fun..I really love it. I just CAN'T wait to go again, And im sure the other kids can't wait ether. Also when I was in the corn field a weird furrball was chasing me, I got so scared and i think i ran a little of the trail. But im better now...But i really loved it, it was really nice and i just can't wait to go again.. That place was awsome, oh!! one more thing i lost my voice, 1 more thing again when i was in the hunted house the chain saw massacre was chasing me i thought i was goniog to get killed but i didn't....well i loved the spookywoods and can't wait to go again.. love, Mercedse Choice: I had no idea it was so awesome! Comments: I'm Stephanie's grandmother and I went through with her. If she hadn't been there I probably wouldn't have made it past the tram-ride. Since I had her explain it to me all I saw was a job well done and some very creepy actors... all and all it was VERY enjoyable! Choice: I'm a Spookywoods Fan for Life! I was just scared by the clown because he called me the little piglet and told me he was watching me and I am terrified of clowns! but overall I loved it! you can expect to see me and my friends again next year! Comments: omgosh! i had so much fun at spookywoods..i screamed the entire time and wouldnt let go of my friends hand! it was very scarey and im so excited to go next year with my newphew! Choice: Best Haunted Attraction Ever! Comments: I have to say that this was probably the best haunted house that I've ever been to. I took a group of 8 teens along and they all had a blast. This is my 3rd haunted attraction this season, and it's BY FAR the ABSOLUTE BEST!!!! I didn't really know what to expect, but it just got better and better as we went through. I am a really tough scare (meaning it takes a lot to scare me...) so I was hoping for a few screams, but what I got was SO much better! The house was decent, the tram ride was really cool-one of the guys scared my mom so badly that she jumped up and hit her head on the top of the tram!!-the corn field was great, but the spooky woods was INCREDIBLE!!!! I've never been so scared in my life! The darkness was amazing and I loved the hall of hands! AWESOME JOB!!! We're coming back tonight and definitely next year too!!!! Thanks for a great scare! Comments: My family just got back from visiting there. My daughter and one of her friends tinkled a little in their pants and on the tram ride they actually had tears running down their cheeks. Time: 08:58 PM Comments: Well. I went last year and again this year. I can not believe the improvement. I went on the night it opened and there was no line. Not only that, but they let us keep our ticket for another night. I am planning on using the ticket Sunday night. I screamed throughout most of the attraction. I have already been to 5 haunted attractions (Bloody Hollow, Woods Of Terror, kersey valley, and 2 others i cant remember names) and this was the best by far. I highly recommend this attraction. Choice: I'm a Spookywoods Fan for Life! Comments: I loved it!!! It was worth the money and I actually jumped a little... Ok I screamed a little too!!! That usually doesn't happen!! It was great and I would recommend anyone to go see it!! Choice: I'm a Spookywoods Fan for Life! Comments: Everything about this place was really cool. I can't really think of anything to improve it other than maybe a couple more scares on the corn field (which is not available on the weekend) but it was still really good. I liked it because it not only scared you but there were some parts that actually left you dizzy (in a good way!). There were a lot of cool illusions and they did a really good job with the props and actors. What surprised me the most was how long it was. I was expecting that it would all be over fairly quickly but it just seemed to go on and on which was great because I really felt I got my money's worth. I would recommend purchasing reservations (and not just advance tickets online) so that you can take the short line in. Even on a Thursday night, the place was pretty busy. After driving 2+ hours the last thing I want to do is wait in line 1-3 hours. I don't regret spending the extra money. Overall, I really enjoyed myself. I'll definitely be back next year! I just knew from reading the reviews that we were going to be waiting forever in line, but to my surprise, the line moved quickly. I have to say that you put on a good show. The only thing I would change would be adding more people to the corn maze and the outdoor haunts. Other than that, it was great. I can't wait to come back next year. If we hadn't already spent our money and it was refundable, we would have left and you would have been out of $200. Luckily the haunt was worth it and one of the best we've been to, but I do feel that it was so unfair that online reserved tickets still meant you had to wait. At WOT we simply walked up, showed our online print-out and walked right up to the line, which I don't understand why that didn't happen at Spooky Woods. Thanks!! Choice: I can't wait to go again! I was asked to go this year and Friday 13th I went to Woods of terror, So I said what the hay.. lets go.. You were cheaper, and you were more fun in the dark. I loved the maze.. Although I think some sawdust down on that ground would be an improvement. I like the staff that you have working with you now. I like adults much better then all the kiddies you guys had before. I went to woods of terror this year b/c Kane was there on the 13th. If he was at your place on the 13th I would have come to you guys then. Im so glad that you redid the place and Im pleased to say I really was impressed with what you have done to your property. The hay ride was excellent. I loved it all in the dark.. the people jumping out was fantastic. I was in the front so I got to see everyone else get scared! I hate clowns I am terrified of them. Choice: Comment to Management Comments: I've been going to Spooky Woods off and on for almost 20 years. It keeps getting better and better! We got there last night at 7:30 and had to wait in line for 3 1/2 hours. The line cutting was HORRIBLE!! 1 or 2 would leave the line in front of us and come back with 2 or 3 more to join them. There was almost a fight very close to us due to this and I was hoping that wouldn't happen because I wanted to enjoy this with my nieces. Luckily, cooler heads prevailed. There was also a lot of smoking in the line and some drinking. Fortunately, the wait was worth it (being a veteran, I knew it would be) and we thoroughly enjoyed it!!! The Hellevator was awesome, the tram ride was great, the corn maze was scary and that last part with the pitch black mazes and "theme" rooms was the bomb!!!!! You guys do a great job with the personnel, costumes, props, etc. and you have some of the best scares around. (Now if you could only do something about that line jumping!!) I've been to Scarowinds and Campground Massacre this year and I wasn't actually "scared" until I went through the Spooky Woods Attraction. Not only was it scary - I really felt that I got my monies worth spending a full 45 minuets to an hour experiencing the horror. Also - for those of you bored by the fake gore most attractions offer, you'll be pleasently surprised that the Spooky Woods does scary the old school way - using not only animatronics - but real people who go out of their way to make sure you are scared. Fantastic costumes and makeup - the Hellevator rocked...I can't say it enough, the Spooky Woods was awesome and I wouldn't hesitate to go again. PS - go early and pay the extra $10 to be a VIP - it's worth it! Choice: Comment to Management Comments: I loved everything you had! Jason at the end of the house was awesome. I hugged him! The clowns are the scariest with the blinking lights. The chainsaw masscre at the end of everything, but there was no Scream killer. You took a little to much of Jason, which isn't bad, but everyone likes Scream too. It would be cool if you put Freddy Crooger, Scream, and Jason together. That would be the ultimate scare! I've only been there once, and i don't know if you take off of someone from the movies every year. If that's the case, You're fine! You guys rocked my night! Keep on poppin' eyeballs! Thanks. Until tonight, I had never been to any sort of haunted house or cornfield. Shortly into our visit to Spookywoods, I was so scared that I wouldn't allow her to let go of my hand. I didn't want to be alone in the middle of all that! :) I screamed so much that I probably won't have my voice in the morning! One of the people working the cornfield broke character for just a moment (after scaring the crap out of me first) to tell us we were the funniest people to come through the maze tonight; I'm sure we were hilarious -- in fact, I wish I had a tape recording of our commentary and screams throughout the journey! I left the site so impressed with the amazing job that all of you did, and my best friend and I could not stop talking about the experience for the rest of the evening. Thanks for making our visit so much fun. I cannot get over how great everything and everyone was. I definitely plan on coming back next year! We all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves! Up until this year, we had been involved with a haunted house in Maiden, NC. We enjoy scaring people, getting together with our friends & having a good time. There were several occasions where we all jumped & were surprised, which is a compliment coming from fellow haunted house workers. All of your staff were very nice & very much into their roles. Our favorite was the vampires at the front door. The contacts completed the look. I'm not sure we will come back again this year, but we will most definitely be back next year to see what is different. Keep up the good work & may you get many more screams from future victims. I love this comment the most so far, since she agrees we are the Best Haunted Attraction even after waiting for 3 hours in line. Tony Choice: Comment to Management Comments: I printed tickets to cut ahead of the ticket line, but could not believe how long we had to wait to get to the main attraction. we arrived at 735pm and entered the house at 1105pm. That's a long time to wait in line. after about 2 hours we almost left but since we drove an hour and a half to get to Spookywoods because the website was so awesome and claimed it was the best, we stayed. 3 hours in line is crazy. I agree that it is the best haunted attraction I have been to and would go again and tell others to go, but the wait line HAS to be shorter. Please work on this!! Thanks. Peggy King

Comments: I came with a group of six; 3 men and 3 women. All of us were VERY scared, especially the 5 people I was with ;). My girlfriend and her friend actually cried. Very well put together, looks expensive. The tram ride was my favorite, those monsters came out of nowhere! Choice: I can't wait to go again! Comments: I had a good time..but I felt like the lines could have been regulated a little better. People just hopped into the line which made the wait almost unbearable...4 hours at least. I really liked the house and mazes, just not the kids that kept jumping in front of us. Choice: I'm a Spookywoods Fan for Life! Comments: Spookywoods was the most fun i have had all year. Even waiting in line for 2 hours in the freezing cold was fun! I especially like bootylicious... she is GREAT! the charlotte kids love you! Choice: Best Haunted Attraction Ever! Comments: I loved spooky woods. It was so cool I didn't scream much only when the person on the tram came right in face. I was all the way in the front! I just said hello to everyone lots of people laughed at me for doing that. I was really scared of the clowns I am clown-a-phobic. I loved the CHAIN SAWS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Choice: I can't wait to go again! Comments: Me and my girlfriend spent the whole evening there. We loved the corn maze. We will do the maze next in the dark. We ate in your food court. Bought some pins from one of your vendors. Loved the movie before the haunt. Love the haunted house. The spooky corn maze was eerie. My favorite was the cave. What is it made out of. The pumpkin house was a good spot to take a picture or 2. The only down side I had was it was not well light and I missed the stilt walker and the dancing zombies. Good time. Choice: I can't wait to go again! Comments: We were there last night and we were screaming and my friend almost lost her voice and it was creepy. My favorite part was the clowns even though they wouldn't leave us alone. But it was really really fun and I can't wait to go next year! Choice: I screamed so much I lost my voice! Comments: OMG!! this place made me scream the whole entire time my boyfriends almost lost circulation in his arm... i loved it...god there were thingd poppin out at every corner....and i got kane hodder to sign my ticket and hoodie..i am deffinately going back nxt year...cant wait Choice: I wet my pants! Comments: like no. literally. i peed in my pants 3 times. the chainsaws really got to me and the guy who doesn't blink made me cry. ive never been this scared in my life..and im definately glad ive experienced spooky woods. because i will be going back again this year and every year following. the tram ride was one-of-a-kind. i dont think ive ever seen anything like that before. but those "things" that took a ride with us were pretty scary..i looked like a big baby. this was my first time here..and you can gurantee it wont be my last! Choice: I can't wait to go again! Comments: First of all, Ticket prices are kind of steep. I had to convince my family to come from Fayetteville to see you and let me tell you, that is one heck of a ride. It took us two hours to get there and it was very worth the trip. I am a veteran of haunted attractions and do not scare easily, however, it got me a few times! We all agreed that we had a blast. We had brought our 5 year old girl and she was the one who was the least scared! Tony, I must say that you have a smooth running operation. Your costume designs and sets were very elaborate and intense. It is one of the longest tour I have been on and one of the best. It is no wonder to me how you have so many patrons who return year after year and why you have been operating for so long. I will definitely be back with my crew. Thank you. I would also like to say that there was someone who sticks out in my mind. As I cannot remember her name I will describe her as a very "curvatious" cheerleader. She was really wonderful in describing the details of the tour to our 5 year old and made her feel more at ease. This child did not even FLINCH for the line-up of Jason, Leatherface, etc.. Comments: My first time visit was a blast. There was 13 in our group that went and everyone loved it!! We all were so scared (even the guys) It was well worth the money and the travel. I took my son last night (10/07/06), and while other haunts in NC were closed due to the weather, Spookywoods was open and it couldn't have been a better setting for some good old fashioned scares. The night was cold and misty, and the mood was just right! I know I say this every year, but it continues to remain true, that being that this was the best spookywoods trip ever. Our journey through spooky woods began with the delightful captivation and enchantment by the lovely maid Miriam. Then the elevator operator put a new twist into our journey before we were chased from the haunted house. The tractor ride went smooth except for a couple of unwanted hitchers. The corn maze was tight, never knowing what to expect around each corner. Everybody hates killer clowns. Finally, the kids shoved me through the darkness with their white knuckles gripping my shirt. He was with you guys for a long time. Unfortunately, he passed away in October 1999. & years today to be exact. His name was Jerry Pitts. I found it hard to come that year, but, I did anyhow. OMG Halloween is my favorite!! I love Haunted Houses. My first experience with a haunted house was at Kersey Valley. I was only about 2 years old, I am now 22. I was standing outside the house with my parents waiting for my older sisters to come out and one of the actors followed me with a chainsaw as I weaved in and out from between my parents legs. It scared the crap out of me!!! It also has kept me coming back year after year. I also have worked for a Haunted House. It was "Fright Mares" ran by Jeff Bufkin. I worked there for two Halloweens, my Senior year in high school(2002) and I year after that. It was so much fun and I loved every minute of it. I would love to get back into working for a haunted house again. Well, just thought I would share my Kersey Valley scare with you. Can't wait to see you guys this Halloween!! Choice: I wet my pants!
