I just wanted to let you guys know that this is my third year visiting Spookywoods, and the scares get better every year. I've recommended your attractions to everyone I know: there's not a better "haunting" in the state of NC! I used to work with the "Original Hollywood Horror Show" and even though I hate to say it, you guys are the best. People aren't herded through so quickly that they don't get to see all the gory details... and that's the best part. This year my friends and I were there for an hour and a half... most places get you in and out in twenty minutes!!! We screamed and laughed the entire time (However, we didn't visit Billy Bob's kissing booth...). Every year I've been to Spookywoods I've gotten the feeling that everyone who works there really enjoys what they do--it's like you're all a great big family. Please keep it up! I'll definitely be back next year! P.S. The truck thing scared me to death--that's so original, so unexpected! Scares like that !

MAKE Spookywoods the best in the state.

AWESOME!

That was THE coolest Haunted House. I love how the characters talk to you and junk! There's only one thing I don't like. When I was walking through the Corn Field, and the chainsaw was chasing me. It hit me in the back of the leg and it hurt! So...cut down on the chainsaws, please. I love the tiny people! I think they are children of the corn. But they are so cute! And kind of crazy! Well...again...thanks for all the fun. CANT WAIT UNTIL NEXT YEAR!

attention spookywoods bigwigs!

I visited your attraction on the 28th and it was awesome! the hayride guide (clidus) was the funniest, most intense actor I have ever seen! when the ride was over I complimented him on how good he was and and talk to him while his wagon reloaded, he seemed really dedicated and reliable. you should definitely pay him what he's worth. your lucky he hasn't left your attraction for Hollywood yet. he must be really dedicated to get so into character, and to stay up so late. well the rest of the show was out of this world! man, I got to give it up to you, that I was absolutely astonished with the detail, and the work that must've gone into putting that show together. to sum it all up: OUTSTANDING!

Hello....

My name is Connie and I live in Randleman.....my friends and I visited the SpookyWoods on Halloween night and I have to tell you that I had a blast....We took Cletus' scenic tours and I laughed so hard...please do not get me wrong...I did my share of screaming too..but I had a ball joking with Cletus and he played an excellent part...the "actors" did a wonderful job of keeping straight faces..I usually get people to laugh....but the mortician at the beginning never blinked and he did not smile no matter how hard I tried...the corn field was wonderful and frightful and the woods were good as well. I do have a few suggestions though....the woods weren't as scary as I had hoped....the hayride was fun, the maze was scary because of the darkness, the wood was scary but not scary enough.....it seemed as though there were lots of children playing the parts....and even though I screamed at some...some just made me laugh. which is fine for me, but I noticed lots of people in line that!

did not care for it...the spinning tunnel was a very nice touch...I walked lopsided all the way to the exit....

Anyways, I just wanted to tell you that it was well worth my 15 dollars to get in....the people were friendly and scary at the same time....I was sorry to hear that you had some people injured while in business...my best wishes for their recovery...Thank you very much....

I went to both your haunted attractions and i personally thought they were great! Especially the real spooky trail, that was the best part. I thought it was going tot be a short trail and very lame but you all fooled me, and it was very exciting. The cornfield was also pretty fun too! I enjoyed it a lot and i wish to come again next year!

Thanks for one of the greatest Halloween trails in this area. Everything was GREAT!

Spooks mingling in the crowd were especially fun. We have been to several and nothing can compare. We loved the corn maze. ALL ACTORS ARE TO BE COMMENDED FOR A PERFORMANCE WELL DONE!! This is well worth the money and I have suggested it to all my friends. Hope to see it all again next year and many more to come.

Hi! i just came back from your trail about 15 minutes ago (oct. 31!!) and it was great! i really only got startled a few times, but it was very entertaining! i met some very interesting people while standing in line. Chris, the vampire who likes ICP, and Jason, the 14 year old that goes to Southern Guilford! HEY GUYS! I really wanted to say bye to yall! This is the tall girl in the hat and yellow shirt? Remember?? Anyway, i thought the maze was really cool. I also liked the Michael Myers bit. The music went along really well. I loved the nurse with the cereal killer outfit on! I would LOVE to work at Spooky Woods. Send me some info. I LOVE YOU CHRIS AND JASON!!

To all of you Spookywoods Freaks,

I visited your haunted attraction twice this year with the Tweetsie Ghost Train group. I had a wonderful time on both trips and have insisted that all my friends and family make a special trip to Kersey Valley to experience the Spookywoods horror. A special thanks to Tony and all of his staff for a excellent and spooky Halloween adventure. Please tell Dennis hello and thanks for not just one rose, but two.

Thanks again and best wishes to you all in the Haunt business.

Hey! My youth group came last night (Oct. 28th) and it was one of the best nights of my life! My two friends were completely terrified of Michael Myers and it was the funniest thing I've ever seen! Thanks for the laugh. I loved the "wassup" guy and the whole corn maize thing. It was definitely worth my $15. I can't wait till next year!!!

We took my son and several of his friends here for his birthday. Everyone had a great time. The boys raved about it for the whole hour long drive home and haven't stopped yet! My son, Randall, said that this was the best birthday ever. They especially liked the cornfield. The maze was very well done as well. Thanks for a great scare and a great time. We have been spreading the word here in Martinsville!

Spookywoods:

Went there last night(Oct. 27) with 6 other friends. I have to admit that before I even bought my ticket we were scared to death by a chain wielding maniac and Freddie. Right then I knew that my money would be well spent. I am one that doesn't even like to go out in my backyard after dark, and to tell you the truth, I was willing to lose my $15.00 to go sit in the car, but I have to be honest that this was the best $15.00 I have ever spent in my life for a good Friday night out. Went to both attractions. Went to the Haunted House first, which scared me straight since I haven't been in one since I was 5. It was GREAT!!!!! The hayride was Nerve-Wracking!!!! The Corn Field was an experience of Danger and Torment and last but not least the Maze was a Never Ending Adventure of Fright!!!! I had the greatest time of my life and believe me, the people that didn't come last night, will be there before this Adventure comes to a Close!!! Thank you for the best time of my life and I'll be sure to see you next year!!!!!

A group of six of us went last night. We had a great time. We screamed, laughed, fell down, ran and just had great fun. "Freddie" was one of the scariest to me and one other in our group. The large dangling spider in the small space was spooky too. Everyone was terrific. We were truly scared.

Tonight was great! My friends and I went through the corn field and when you came to the clearing to go inside that thing with all the scary stuff in it there was this little kid dressed in a black costume chasing me and my friend steph around!!!!! The reason why it was so funny was because she and I are terrified of midgets and he looked close to one. Anyways thanx for making Halloween so much fun!!! It was a trip. I didn't like the clown room either, mostly because I'm scared of clowns also. :) Anyway, the dude at the beginning of the tunnel with the hand that falls off, that is so old even I expected it! Come on! It was so creepy to have some of the people in character come up behind you and look you in the face and look over your shoulder, thats just creepy. Anyways i had a great time!!! HOPEFULLY I WILL SEE YOU ALL NEXT YEAR!!!!!

Hey There,

I come to your spookwoods and it was great. I loved it. I think that if you had more chain swore people and more people in the corn maze and in the trail It would be great , but I was scared and all my friends was too. So that is a cool trail and I will come back next year. I love all you people costumes. Your trail KICKED ASS.. Have more people to come after you when you leave the trail, beside just one..

My friends and I went last night and had a wonderful time. Spookywoods is by far the best Halloween attraction that I've been to.

Driving all the way from Raleigh, NC, Spooky woods was definitely an adventure to remember. I was wickedly impressed of every detailed aspect and can't wait to go back next year, for an even bigger adventure.

I was amazed at how short and fun "waiting in line" was, then to spend a good while running through the maze. For those who hate "waiting in line", think again, I especially enjoyed the ghost and goules that were there to greet and entertain us with fright and excitement.

This safe, spooky ride and haunted adventure was worth every minute of my time and drive, and I definitely plan to spread the word in my neck of the woods...

Thanks for the scare!

I wanted to tell you that this is by far, the most amazing program i have ever been too. My girlfriend literally knocked me down, trying to run away. We started on the maze, and she stopped, started whimpering, and wanted to run out. We thought it was over, and boy were we wrong. Keep up the good work, and have fun. One last thing, I live in PA, and went to the haunted hay ride there, it was good, but nothing like what you have. www.thebateshotel.com

We enjoyed the Harvest of Horrors. The sand in the Egyptian Room was a nice touch. I also loved the awesome vampire. I got my picture taken in the coffin too. Nice idea! My husband and I did SpookyWoods several years ago, and it is much, much improved since that time. Keep it up!

Spookywoods,

I went to your attraction this past Sunday and I had a blast!!!
I took my girlfriend and as soon as we walked into the place
that Freddy Kruger(sp?) guy wouldn't leave her alone!! It is
all right because that was his job. The nasty redneck on the
hayride, Bubba or Billy Bob, was pretty cool and funny. You all
should have him back next year!!! Other than that the only things
that my a good impression in my mind was the truck scene in the
little house and the maze. My girlfriend touched that dead guy that
was laid over and when he jumped up she fell flat on her ass!!!
Even the employee's started laughing. I would recommend making the cornfield attraction a little bit scarier because you could see
all the people before they jumped out and scared you. But, over all
the show was pretty good but but there should a discount for couples because
thirty bucks is pretty steep.

Dear kersey Valley,

I went to yalls awesome show this past weekend. It was this past weekend, the actors were really great. I loved the clown in the cornfield with the chainsaw. He was the scariest person i have ever encountered. He made me and my girlfriend piss all over ourselves. Everything was great there, and I cant wait to come back!

P;S That clown was awesome!!!!!!!!!

My friends and my kid and his friend went this past Saturday night. We all thought it was so much fun. It wasn't scary as much as high anticipation. You knew people were waiting to jump out at you, but you didn't know when. You still screamed and jumped anyway. Even when you could see them ahead waiting on you. I WOULD ADVISE THE GUYS IN THE CORNFIELD WEAR A COLOR CLOSER TO THE COLOR OF THE CORNSTALKS TO BLEND IN MORE.

Also, make the stalks move just before we get there and have someone making noise as they walk toward the crowd through the field, but never come out. Maybe have voices randomly speaking throughout the field. And maybe the sound of farm equipment coming toward the crowd and the stalks swaying as the sound gets louder, only to be scared by a being that has disfigured by farm equipment.

On the hayride, you could have someone lowering down fake insects, spiders, etc. on a string of some sort when the tractor stops or slows down.

All in all it was awesome. I even had "Freddie" scratch my back. The night was so cool. Would love to do it again. Thanks guys, wonderful job!!! Kissandra

We visited your attraction on 10/21/00. We arrived early
to avoid the ticket lines and was approached by several scary
creatures, one of which scratched my head with his blades(?)!
We enjoyed that part the best. This made the line go by very quick.
I think the house could have had more rooms and be allot scarier. But the truck was very cool and different. Bubba added a touch of humor to the scene by telling my boyfriend and I that we were his brother and sister, followed by a hug! The hayride was fun and suspenseful but could have been a lot scarier, such as the tractor getting stuck and us having to run to catch another tractor? The corn field was fun but it should have been a maze instead of a walking path. More people should be involved in the corn field and run after you instead of just standing there. The last part was the best That was a real maze with scary features. More people should have been involved in that as well. But over all I rate this an 8 on a scale from 1-10! Hope to see some of my ideas next year!

Comments:

I went to the Spooky Woods on 10-21-00, and it was well worth the $15.00 a person we paid! I went with my 11 year old sister and she is a screamer, they actors did a GREAT job of scaring her, she screamed constantly. We usually go every year and this year was the best so far, I think! The best part was the corn maze, because you didn't know where people were hiding! The only thing that could have made this better was to maybe not have to separate lines, this way everything came after each other instead of having to wait in two separate lines. Rebecca

Hey everybody! I went to Kersey Valley on Saturday the 21st, and it was totally awesome! I had been once before in 98, and had a blast too. I went with 2 friends, and one of them had never been to a haunted house before, she was freaked out! I liked the maze part, it was great. The Egyptian room was really cool and the 2nd room in the house. I wish there were more rooms in the maze like the Egyptian one with actors and stuff that told stories or something, they are scarier. Freddie was really cool, and so was the freaky guy at the Rangers station. You do a really good job with costumes and decorations. Keep up the good work and I'm looking forward to going back next year. Ohh yeah, and to that hot guy that I was checking out while he was in the maze line, HEY!!! Okay, bye

Comments:

I just went to Spooky Woods tonight. The guy at the end (Chris?) asked for comments, so here it goes...
I loved the first room of the haunted house with the moving dots. I've never seen that before. I liked it because it was more original than monsters jumping out at you.
I liked the whole hayride. One thing that added to the fun/scare was that one person would jump out on one side of the wagon, drawing all of the attention. Then someone else would jump out on the other side, while people were distracted by the first guy.
In the cornfield, I liked the character that had the mask on the back of his head. You thought he was facing you, but then once you passed him, he started following you.
I didn't like the way the "ghouls" got up in your face and in your personal space, especially when you were standing in line for the maze. You already knew they were there, so they weren't scary or startling. They were just kind of annoying.
I liked the part of the maze where the ground was all spongy. I didn't anticipate that.
I absolutely loved the tunnel. It was amazing - you knew it was an optical illusion, but you still had to grab the hand rail to keep from falling over. It was also something very original.
There are a couple of actors that stand out in my mind as being very good. There was a guy wearing a tux with his face painted white. He didn't say anything. His expression and demeanor made him spooky and intriguing at the same time.
Also, the guy playing Freddy Krueger (sp?)
was very good. He could sneak up on people an scare them just by being there. There was a very young girl in our group, and when he saw that he had frightened her, he took off his mask an nails and reassured her.
When the young girl saw him again at the end of the night, she waved and smiled. I appreciate his willingness to not scare her.
The whole thing seemed very well put together and professional. It was definitely worth the $15.

Thanks!

Freddie Krueger was great
The scary guy at the front door of the house that didn't blink) was great. The Haunted House was very cool. The Billy Bob's were good guides.

The Hayride was a little cheesy - the Billy Bob's talked a little too much and took the scary out of it. It was funny though.

The "guy" hanging from the tree was very cool.
The drive through the corn field was also not real scary because the Billy Bob's talked a little too much, but it was still cool.

NOW, the walk through the corn fields was great, very scary.
The maze was the best part - it was AWESOME.
The Egyptian part was a great addition. Of course, the revolving room was craaaaaazy.
All in all, it was fantastic. Great job. We're coming again with some more friends this week.

Is there a discount for a second visit? :)

All Right Guys here Ya Go!

First off let me say Hey Bubble Boy! And I want you to know that I thought you were scary with your big ole Chainsaw!!!
Although you really need to lose that bubble! hehehe For those of you that don't know what the heck I am talking about it is Chris
at the end of the trail. Anyway. On to thanks number two. However I probably should have put this one first (sorry Chris) but I felt
sorry for Bubble Boy he said no one comments on him in these things so I just had to put him first. Now on to Chris number 2. Boy you are a trip.
Thanks for letting your Aunt have a few scares of her own.
Now on to what I thought about everything. First off the house. I understand that the house is old and the County doesn't let you use much of it any longer.
And that you are limited to what you can do in there. Here is my opinion. I noticed last night that there were quite a few small children there. I think that maybe
next year you could set the house and hayride up for a spooky adventure for the smaller ones. You really would not need to change much due to the fact it is mostly
comedy now. But maybe advertise it that way. The Harvest of Horrors in my opinion was a little much for any one under ten. (Just a suggestion) Next the hay ride.
It was too funny! We had a blast laughing a cutting up but no where did we see scary. (see my point about maybe advertising it for kids?) Even Jason was funny and his victim was the fakest thing I have ever seen! Somebody needs to teach that chic how to die right. And where was the blood on her? Now to the point where the guy was hung in the tree about 100 foot up. That was cool because it looked neat out in that open field. Now the guy on the horse riding around screaming was a total trip. Mainly due to the fact he fell off when he rode by us. (To that guy on the horse.... I hope you didn't get hurt. Because that little trip you took was the funniest thing on that hay ride.

So now we are on to the maze. WONDERFUL! Even though you could see some of the guys it was too fun. I mean you knew they were going to jump at you but you still couldn't help but jump. And to Chris it was such an honor to know that I was the only one to actually take you up on going the wrong way! Once you actually get out of the corn and get into the last part of the maze it is too cool! The church baby thing was a little sad though. That was the ugliest baby I have seen in my life. (Thank you my poor child for letting us touch it without out it biting our fingers off!) I think the mummy needed to be real and jump at you or something. And there needed to be someone in the barrels for the toxic waste. The werewolf
dude wasn't in there when we went threw which was disappointing. And you need more dolls for the doll room. Which I might add that I could help out with. My kid has 100's of them that I would love to do away with. Geez I guess I am being a little critical here aren't I? Sorry this wasn't supposed to be. I LOVED IT I REALLY DID! But you asked for comments so I thought I would give them. Now where was I? Freddie your contacts were awesome! I got to have a pair of those! Now on to the most important part of this email. How can I get involved with this bunch of ghouls? I would love to work in the Harvest of Horrors somewhere!

Thanks for the scares guys! And to Bubble Boy (Chris) and Ghoul in the corn (Chris too) Thanks for the fun!

Laterz Guys!

The Phreaky One

We REALLY enjoyed Spookywoods!!!! The House could have been longer (it needed more rooms), and the hayride was kind of dull because we couldn't really see anything. But other than that....it was great! We loved the harvest of horror, especially the tunnel at the end. It was definitely worth our $15!!! We can't wait to go back next year!

we visited the spooky woods and loved it, didn't really like the hay ride but loved the guides, the cornfield was cool, although it was to easy to find our way through, the spooky woods was awesome and the props made us jump at every corner, but the best of all was the tunnel, would love to see more illusions like that, overall we loved it, keep up the good work and we will be back next year Amy Stanfield

first time to spooky woods & I thoroughly enjoyed myself. you better believe I'll be back next year with some friends. my favorite part was the hayride through the cornfield & the maze. Just a couple of suggestions though. A live mummy in the Egyptian tomb might not be a bad idea. Also, a Dracula & Frankenstein walking outside?

My favorite character was Freddie Kruger. I gave him a couple of hugs. Tee Hee Hee!! He was kewl.

All in all, I loved it. So did my family. See ya next year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey, last night (10/20) was my first haunted anything, and I have to say that your harvest of horrors was awesome, but the other stuff could be better. You need more rooms in the house, and on the hayride you could see everything. But I have to say hey to my favorite actors...the two in the cornfield that followed me down the path (one of the guys was standing out in the middle of it) and to the glowing guy in the maze that asked me if I wanted to kiss him. I had a great time and the maze was awesome. See you next year!

Comments:

I had a great time last night. I have not missed a year since you all opened. I did not go through the house, but the harvest of horrors was fantastic. The only improvements that I can see, would be have someone scare the crap out of us on the tram ride out to the corn field. In the spooky woods maze, there needs to be more people hiding.

All in all the attraction was great, and every year you all get better.

Thanks,

See you next year.

Hey what's up Guys and girls. Just wanted to let you know I have been going to Spooky Woods since 92. Its gets better every year. You all did a great job. I would tell the guy at the end of the Harvest of Horrors trail to lose the attitude. His attitude sucked but other than that It was great. Loved the clown. I thought it was cool that the actors mingled in with the crowd while they waited. If you need help next year I would love to be a part of that.

I had a blast last night when I went for the first time ever to Spooky Woods! The house could use a little improvement. I mean that nice sized house should be good for something! The chain-saw people I felt got a little too close for comfort, and that wolf guy that I had to pop upside the head. I really liked the hay-ride, and our tour guy person. He was so sweet he gave me a piece of husk and said "here. take a flower". I'm definitely going back next year!!

Last night was the first time I had visited your "spooky woods" and I will say that I thoroughly enjoyed myself. It was a pleasant and fun way to spend an evening. The spooky woods and the harvest of horrors were the very best part. I felt that the house could have had a little more added to it. The three rooms were all good, it just needed to be bigger. The hay ride was ok, but a little slow. I loved the corn field and spooky woods though. As I said however, overall I thoroughly enjoyed myself and I would come back again.

We really enjoyed the maze. we think you guys did a really good job but we think you should make the haunted house a little longer. We also thought the stories went really good with all the action that went on! we think that you need to make the chain dude scarier because he really looked fake. the hay ride was really cool especially when the dudes jumped up on the truck that was really freaky. the end of the maze was awesome when it was turning I felt like I was going in circles. we are coming back on Halloween night because we liked it so much.

I have been attending Kersey Valley Haunted Attractions for 5 years now. It has always been my haunt of choice.  It seems to me you have seriously raised the quality of  the show. The house gets better every year. The hayride was a real blast. The corn field was a good and original idea. The woods, usually the only reason why i even go, were  really scary this year. The black hole is still the neatest thing I've seen in a long time.  To be honest, I'm real cheap, so I enjoyed it much more when it was only $10. I can in good heart recommend your attraction to anyone.

I am a mother of five and I came to Kersey Valley on October 15th/Sunday. I thought kersey valley would be a great experience for my three boys and two girls. I was very surprised of how scary kersey valley really was. My three boys wants me to tell you that it was "very Scary".
My boys made it okay through every thing but my nine year old son Used the bathroom On himself when the clown came out of the corn field. Of course that was his scariest part. But I was just writing to you saying, thanks for one of the best nights I ever had with my boys.

We really loved the spooks in the church and the crazy clown in the cornfield. That baby was the ugliest thing but it was spooky.
